Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry was established in 2017 to provide a strong foundation in Aplied Science for Diploma courses. The department plays a key role in developing students' basic scientific knowledge, practical skills and safety awareness, which supoorts their techincal education in Engineering and technology. At present, the department offers courses for the 1st semester of the three year Diploma course. It has a well-equipped laboratory where students get hands-on-experience in experiments that strengthen their understanding of theoretical concepts. 

Mission of the department- The department aims to-

1. Build basic knowledge of Chemistry and supprot the learning of the subjects of Engineering and Technology.

2. Develop practical skills through experiments, labs and problem-solving activities.

3. Encourage curiousity and scientific thinking among first-year students.

4. Connect Chemsitry to real life and industry applications especially in technical fields.

Vision of the department- To provide a strong foundation in Chemistry that enables students understand the science behind materials, processes and technologies and to inspire them to apply this knowledge in their respective fields as well as daily life.
